Top 4 Teams of MPL-KH S1 Qualify Top 8 will proceed to Regular Season

  1. SCHEDULE

    1. Registration Period: July 29, 2021 - August 6, 2021.

      1. There will be available slots for 256 teams who have the highest ranking, which is a system calculated from combining all members' ranking.

    2. MPL-KH S1 Qualify Round 1: August 8, 2021 - August 11, 2021.

    3. MPL-KH S1 Qualify Top 16: August 12-13, 2021.

    4. MPL-KH S1 Qualify Top 8: August 14-15, 2021.

    5. Transfer Window Period: August 16, 2021 – August 23, 2021. The team may change the sponsor, team name and team logo. During the Transfer Window, teams can change their sponsors, team name and team logo.

  2. PLAYER REQUIREMENT

    1.  Players below the age of 18 are required to acquire a parent's consent to participate in MPL-KH S1 Qualify Top 8.  A form will be given to teams reaching the top 8.

      1.  No player shall be considered eligible to participate in any MPL-KH S1 competitions before having lived 15 full years. This shall not prevent the Teams from signing Free Agents who have not lived 15 full years, granted that they may not participate in an MPL-KH S1 competition until they have lived 15 full years. Players must pass the age of 15, otherwise they will be considered as 15 years old and be banned from participating in MPL-KH S1.

      2.  Teams who qualify for MPL-KH S1 Qualify Top 8 must provide a valid government ID of all players to prove their players are of legal tournament age. 

    2.  Players, Coach and Manager are not allowed to join more than 1 team for each qualifier.

    3.  Players must be available for all tournament dates, including potential post-tournament interviews or other tournament events of MPL-KH S1.

    4.  The act of registering for this tournament implies full acceptance of all terms, conditions, rules and regulations stated, in its entirety.

    5. All teams must have at least 3 local citizens and all team members must be physically in the Philippines for the whole duration of the tournament.

  3. TEAM REQUIREMENT

    1. Team captains are expected to have Discord installed on their mobile device.
      A team must consist of the following members:

      1.  5 main players (necessary) 

      2. 1 substitute player (optional) 

    2. If a team is qualified for the MPL-KH S1 Regular Season but lacks 1 coach or 1 manager, the team can participate in MPL-KH S1 only after meeting the MPL-KH S1 Team Requirement (Each Team is required to maintain one General Manager, one Head Coach, five Players across their starting lineup ("Starter") and one substitute Player ("Substitute") during the entire MPL.) during the Transfer Window. Players cannot be changed during the Transfer Window. However, it is allowed to swap players between substitutes and the starting lineup. Coaches and managers can be changed during the Transfer Window.
      Team ownership is determined by 51% of the team members during registration. Teams are prohibited to replace any of the registered players including the reserved player throughout the event.

    3. Teams are required to submit a team logo upon reaching the streamed matches (top 16) of a qualifier.

    4. Teams are required to produce a team shirt/jersey and jacket for their players upon successfully qualifying for the regular season of the league. Players are required to wear said shirts during official MPL-KH S1 events at all times.

    5. Teams are allowed to get their own sponsors throughout the season. However, the following categories of sponsors are strictly prohibited which include but not limited to:

      1. casino or gambling websites; 

      2. websites displaying or related to pornographic imagery or products; 

      3. firearms, handguns, or ammunition providers; 

      4. alcohol; 

      5. drugs; 

      6. tobacco or cigarettes, including e-cigarette and vaping products; 

      7. account sharing/skin selling websites 

      8. other product or service that Moonton determines are detrimental to the MPL-KH S1 or in a competitive relationship with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang mobile game.

    6. By registering, Teams acknowledge that all usage of photos, videos, and any form of recording during the tournament have been given legal consent by the players for media and marketing purposes.

    7. An organization may have a maximum of one team representing them in MPL-KH S1. If an organization is caught having more than one team representing them, they will be disqualified from the tournament. Leniency will be given in the open qualifiers, but this rule will be strictly enforced from the main qualifiers onward.

  4. TEAM NAMES, TEAM LOGOS, AND PLAYER NAMES

    1.  Team Names and Team Logos 

      1. Team names and logos must only contain English characters, numbers, single space between words only, plus sign (+), minus sign (-), underline (_) and single quotes (‘’).

      2. When applying with the MPL-KH S1 official for the use of any Team names, the Team shall also provide a short name of the contemplated Team name, length is 2-4 characters, which must only contain English characters, numbers, plus sign (+), minus sign (-), underline (_) and single quotes (‘’). Unless otherwise specified by the Team, the MPL-KH S1 official is entitled to use, at its own discretion, the full Team name and/or the short Team name on any occasion.

      3. The verification of the images or the names of sponsors are allowed to be shown in Team Logos and Team Names but they cannot be the same as the trademark and the name of the sponsors. Team Logos and Team names cannot use any logo with which exists any copyright issues.or any logo with which exists any copyright issues.

      4. The MPL-KH S1 official reserves the final right to approve Team names and logos.

      5. Any applications regarding changes to Team names or logos must be submitted to the MPL-KH S1 official in advance, the new name or logo can only be used after obtaining approval. Teams can only apply to change their name during the Transfer Window Period and can only apply to change their Name once within each Transfer Window Period (1.5).

    2. Player Names 

      1. Player names must only contain English characters, numbers or single space between words only. The length should be 4 to 12 characters. Player Names cannot contain a sponsor's name.

      2. In case of duplicated names, the player should change the name after consulting the authority.

    3. Common Restrictions

      1. No additional special characters will be allowed for Team names, Logos or Player Names (including underscores, slashes, etc.). Team Names, Logos and Player Names may not contain: vulgarities or obscenities; names related to the hero characters in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang or other similar characters; or other contents that may create confusion.

  5. COMMUNICATION

    1. Discord shall be used as the main communication tool for the MPL-KH S1 Qualifier between team representatives and the MPL-KH S1 tournament marshals.

      1. All additional Discord protocols can be easily found in the Discord Channels.

      2. Each Pool will have a dedicated Discord Channel for easier communication and handling.

      3. Tournament Marshals will be online to conduct and assist teams should they need it.

    2. Team Representatives are responsible for managing and responding on Discord. Team Representatives must read all Discord updates and follow rules and regulations to ensure smooth tournament procedure.

    4. Each team must have a representative present at the MPL-KH S1 Discord Server. MPL-KH S1 will contact the team captain up to 1-2 business days after registration.

    5. Change your Discord Nickname to the same as your team name. This is to make for opposing teams to find each other easier, and for tournament marshals to conduct the tournament smoother.

  6. REPORTING MATCH WINS AND DISPUTES

    1.  Match wins must be reported in the proper Discord channel in your Discord Server.

      1. A screenshot of the victory screen is required.

      2. Match wins are to be submitted as soon as the match ends. Failing to submit the result of the match within 10 minutes after the match ended may result in a loss for both teams.

    2. Disputes must be reported immediately and in the proper Discord channel in your Discord Server.

      1. Screenshots as evidence of claims are recommended to quicken the process and support claims.

      2. Any disputes regarding the matches should be reported within 10 minutes of the matches finishing. Any disputes after the 10-minute mark will be subject to the decision of the marshal whether to pursue or not. As always, the marshal holds the final say regarding tournament details.​​​​​​​

  7. MATCH PROCEDURE

    1. Matches will start only on the designated time schedule indicated on the Discord Server and Challonge Bracket Links.

      1. Teams will be tagged by Tournament Marshals before their match to remind them of their upcoming match.

    2. Teams must confirm with Tournament Marshals on Discord they will start their official match. This must be done after both teams have finished their ping test and are ready to start.

    3. The winning team must immediately send the screenshot of their victory in the proper Discord Channel. A tournament marshal will confirm their win.

    4. Once confirmed and cleared, the winning team should wait for their next match. Teams must be vigilant of the time and of the Discord Channel for updates.

    5. Teams who do not respond on Discord 10 minutes after the scheduled match time will be disqualified.​​​​​​​

  8. TOURNAMENT MODE AND FORMAT

    1. The matches before the Top 16 will be Custom Draft Pick Mode. Matches in MPL-KH S1 Qualify Top 16 will be Tournament Mode.

    2. Matches will be played with a Best-of-One series. Matches from the Top 16 onwards will be played as a Best-of-Three Series.

      1. The Qualifying round will play in Single Elimination format.

    3. All players must only use their own game account to take part in matches.

      1. Game accounts used must match those they registered with.
    4. The team on the top of the bracket will have the choice for which side they play. For the Best-of-Three series, a coin toss will be made. The winner of the coin toss will choose the side they play on the first game of the Best-of-Three series. The other team will choose their side in the second game. Coin Toss again to determine side priority should they play a third game. 

    5. Top 4 Teams will move to the Regular Season.

  9. MATCH-UPS, TARDINESS AND NO SHOWS

    1. Teams are expected to be in the in-game lobby and at the studio. Maximum 10 minutes waiting time.

    2. The designated time during the main qualifiers is 30 minutes before the broadcast schedule of the match.

    3. The broadcast schedule will be communicated to the teams by the league admin at least a day ahead of the scheduled match.

    4. If any team is not ready during the designated time, their opponent can take a default win by contacting an admin and having him check the lobby.

    5. If both teams agree, they can delay for a maximum of 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, whoever has the most players in their team will take a default win and must report to an admin and have him check the lobby.

    6. In order to keep the League on schedule, teams may not wait more than 10 minutes, or both teams may get disqualified.

    7. If the previous match has been cancelled because of a disqualification, the next teams are expected to be ready.

    8. Teams may not remake after the 1st creep wave has spawned.

    9. All results must be reported to the respective admins right after the match within 30 minutes. ​​​​​​​

  10. CHEATING AND UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

    1.  Players proven to have been cheating, conspiring to cheat, or acting in an unsportsmanlike conduct will receive consequences upon the review of their action.

    2.  Cheating is defined as any practice that gives an unfair advantage to a team or player. The following actions will be considered unfair play and will be subject to penalties at the discretion of the MPL-KH S1 official.

      1. Collusion. Collusion is defined as any agreement among two (2) or more Players, Head Coaches, Teams, and/or confederates to disadvantage opposing Players. Collusion includes, but is not limited to, acts such as:

        1. Soft play, which is defined as any agreement among two (2) or more Players to not damage, impede or otherwise play to a reasonable standard of competition in a Game.

        2. Pre-arranging to split prize money and/or any other form of compensation.

        3. Sending or receiving signals, electronic or otherwise, from a confederate to/from a Player.

        4. Deliberately losing a Game for prize money, or for any other reason, or attempting to induce another Player to do so.

      2. Competitive Integrity. Teams are expected to play at their best at all times within any MPL-KH S1 Game, and to avoid any behavior inconsistent with the principles of good sportsmanship, honesty, or fair play. For the sake of clarity, team composition and the pick/ban phase will not be considered when determining whether this rule has been violated.

      3. Hacking. Hacking is defined as any modification of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang game client by any Player, Team or person acting on behalf of a Player or a Team.

      4. Exploiting. Exploiting is defined as intentionally using any in-game bug to seek an advantage. Exploiting includes, but is not limited to, acts such as: glitches in buying items, glitches in neutral minion interactions, glitches in Heroes ability performance, or any other game function that, in the sole determination of the MPL-KH S1 official, is not functioning as intended.

      5. Spectator Monitors. Players who are playing in a Game are not permitted to look at or attempt to look at any screen or device that is displaying an observer level view of that Game (i.e., that is or is capable of showing a neutral view of the map).

      6. Ringing. Playing under another Player's account or soliciting, inducing, encouraging or directing someone else to play under another Player's account.

      7. Cheating Methods. The use of any kind of cheating device and/or cheat program, or any similar cheating method such as signaling devices, hand signals, etc.

      8. Intentional Disconnection. An intentional disconnection without a proper and explicitly-stated reason.

      9. MPL-KH S1 official Discretion. Any other further act, failure to act, or behavior which, in the sole judgment of the MPL-KH S1 official, violates these Rules and/or the standards of integrity established by MPL-KH S1 for competitive game play.

         

  11. MPL-KH S1 QUALIFY TOP 16 and TOP 8 OFFLINE PROCEDURE AND RULES

    1. Members of a team who are participating in a MPL-KH S1 must arrive at the studio no later than the time specified by the MPL-KH S1 Official. Late arrival caused by the Team or the Members will be subject to penalties.

    2. Members of a team who are participating in a League Event must get ready for the match at least 1 hour before their team match schedule. And prepared to be invited into the tournament lobby one hour before their match schedule for the testing match.

    3. Setup Time. Players will have designated blocks of time prior to their Match time to ensure they are fully prepared. The MPL-KH S1 official will inform Players and Teams of their scheduled setup time and duration as part of their Match schedule. The MPL-KH S1 official may change the schedule at any time. Setup time is considered to have begun once Players enter the Match Area, at which point they are not allowed to leave without permission of the on-site Referee. Setup is comprised of the following:

      1. Ensuring the quality of all MPL-KH S1 provided equipment.

      2. Connecting and calibrating devices.

      3. Ensuring proper function of voice chat system.

      4. Setting up Emblem and Battle Spells pages.

      5. Adjusting in-game settings.

      6. Limited in-game warm-up.

      7. Players must sit in the seating order they submitted.

      8. If a Player encounters any equipment problems during any phase of the setup process, Player must alert and notify an MPL-KH S1official immediately.

      9. The MPL-KH S1 officials will be available to assist with the setup process and troubleshoot any problems encountered during the pre-Match set up period.

      10. It is expected that Players will resolve any issues with the setup process within the allotted time and that Match will begin at the scheduled time. Delays due to setup problems may be permitted, at the sole discretion of the MPL-KH S1 official. Penalties for tardiness may be assessed at the discretion of the MPL-KH S1 official.

      11. Approximate 5 minutes before the Match is scheduled to begin, a Referee will confirm with each Player that their setup is complete. 

      12. Once all ten Players in a Match have confirmed completion of setup, Players may not alter their emblem pages or enter a warm-up Game. 

      13. The MPL-KH S1 official will decide how the official game lobby will be created. Players will be directed by the MPL-KH S1 official to join a game lobby as soon as testing has been completed, in their seating order. 

  12. GAME RULES

    1. Game Pause: If a Player intentionally disconnects without notifying an MPL-KH S1 official or pausing, an MPL-KH S1 official is not required to enforce a stoppage. During any pause or stoppage, Players may not leave the Match Area unless authorized by an MPL-KH S1 official.

      1. Directed Pause. The MPL-KH S1 official may order the pause of a Match or execute a pause command on any player station at the sole discretion of the Operating Committee, at any time.

      2. Player Pause. Players may only pause a Match immediately but must signal an MPL-KH S1 official immediately after the pause and identify the reason.

      3. We can not pause the game during team fights.

    2. Remaking the Game: Under which conditions can a Game be reset is entirely decided by the MPL-KH S1. The following conditions are examples used to illustrate:

      1. If a Player notices that Player's emblems, battle spells or GUI settings have not applied correctly due to a bug between the game lobby and Match, Player can pause the Game to adjust these settings. If the settings cannot be correctly adjusted, then the Game may be restarted.

      2. If the MPL-KH S1 official determines that technical difficulties will not allow for the Game to resume as normal (including a Team's ability to be in proper position for certain game events, such as minion spawn). 

      3. If a game experiences a critical bug at any point during the Match that significantly alters game stats or gameplay mechanics, or the external environmental conditions become untenable then a restart may occur.

      4. Certain circumstances must be met before a restart may occur. The MPL-KH S1 must determine that the bug is critical and verifiable. For the bug to be considered critical, the bug must significantly damage a Player's ability to compete in the game situation. The determination of whether the bug has damaged a Player's ability to compete is up to the sole discretion of the MPL-KH S1. In order for a bug to be considered verifiable, the bug must be conclusively present and not possibly attributable to Player’s error. The spectator must then be able to replay the instance in question and verify the bug.

  13. CHANGES TO THE RULES ABOVE

    1.  The Tournament Admin has the right to overrule any of the rules above. This is to avoid players trying to use a loophole in the rules to gain an unfair advantage.

    2.  Moonton, at their discretion, may change any of the rules. They have the final decision with regards to anything about the tournament.
